Lavan Teja Burra is an academic guest at the Chair of Energy and Public Economics

We warmly welcome Lavan Teja Burra!

Lavan is a PhD candidate in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland. His research focuses primarily on electric vehicle adoption—investigating the impact of charging infrastructure, shifts in consumer demand for electric cars, and their environmental benefits—often using engineering and econometric techniques.

He has a keen interest in multidisciplinary research, particularly in addressing questions related to the effects of environmental policies and economic incentives for new technologies in transportation.

Previously, he worked as a researcher at RWI-Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, Essen. During his tenure there, his work centered on determining the optimal mix of subsidies for consumers and charging infrastructure by evaluating their relative effectiveness within the context of the German electric car market.
