Keshav Sureka has just joined the Chair of Energy and Public Economics as a PhD

We warmly welcome Keshav.

During his PhD Keshav will be working on the effect of air pollution on the performance of children in standardized test in India. The research will highlight another possible externality due to air pollution. It will help understand the cost of air pollution in terms of loss of human capital formation, as lower scores in standardized are generally associated with low future income.

Previously Keshav has worked on a UC Berkley funded project, exploring the macro relation between BMI and life expectancy across world and specifically in India and US. He also worked on more abstract areas of choice rationalization during his MPhil at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
